Matterhorn Paper Piecing

2015-03-25-19.44.12One of my most favorite rides has to be the Matterhorn. I’m so sad that it no longer has the tandem seating, there was something comforting about sitting in your parents lap for your first big roller coaster ride. Oh well, I’m looking forward to when my little guy is tall enough to take a spin on the run-a-way bobsleds.

I’ve been thinking about how to recreate the signage, I looked at coloring pages from a Disneyland coloring book, there were lots and lots of lines and small cuts. That was going to be tons and tons of work to convert into a cuttable file and then clean up. I kept thinking about just how I could create the image then I remembered the Destinations cartridge from Cricut, A-ha!

Once I figured that out, it was a synch to use the slice feature in Design Space to trim off a few pieces and create the desired image.

Since I was able to use the Cricut images and fonts from Design Space I can share the file with you. Enjoy! What attraction would you like me to try and recreate next? Leave a note in the comments and I’ll give it a try.

That looks amazing! You have such a great eye for recognising what Disney images and fonts are!
