Mousekeeping Tip Tent – Free Printable Download

Help me welcome Krisi to the Capturing Magic team! I've wanted to create a “Mousekeeping Tip Tent” since the site launched. I knew if anyone could create a printable file, it would be Krisi! I shared my idea with her and she ran with it. I love the results and I'm sure you will too!

This is Krisi and I am excited to be a new team member here at Capturing Magic. Myself and my family are in the process of preparing for our first trip to Walt Disney World. I plan to share some of the things I am doing to prepare and be ready for our magical trip! I had fun creating this Mousekeeping Tent (which you can easily put together and have ready to pop up when you arrive at Disney).

The supplies you will need:

  • Printer
  • Sturdy card stock or a matte presentation paper (I love the Epson brand)
  • Straight cutter (or scissors)
  • Adhesive (double sided tape, photo squares)
  • Ruler
  • Scoring device – use a scoring stick, back of a butter knife, any dull pointed object  (or as I did since I couldn't find my scoring stick, a knitting needle)
  • Container to hold money for each day of tips (I used a Walgreen's prescription container)

{if you do not have a printer the file can be sent to Staples, Office Depot, FedEx Office, etc. for printing – just be sure to choose a heavy stock paper. Download the printable by clicking the image.}Once printed you will cut on the solid lines, and score on the dotted lines. Be sure to cut the short lines on the bottom (they will weave together to allow the tent to sand freely).  Here is mine cut out with the supplies that I used:

Then attach the tops of both tent parts to each other – use double sided tape or photo squares.

Then wrap your money tag around your container of choice.  You can then fold over the tent to make it smaller and easily store until your trip.

Once at your trip – the bottom will easily weave together and you can slip in your Mousekeeping Tip each day for the fabulous Mousekeepers!

You can grab your own copy of the download HERE.

I can now mark one item off my list.  We are planning on more than one resort so don't be surprised if you don't see some Mousekeeping envelopes show up on the blog in the future!  Do you create something to put your Mousekeeping tips each day in/on?  Share your ideas in the comments.

That is such a cute idea! Do you leave a tip every day or at the end of your stay? Not being from America I’m never sure of the tip etiquette!

    • Gab – it is best to leave it each day so you know the person who is cleaning your room that day is getting the tip. Many times it is not the same person throughout your whole stay. I usually do $1 per person each day.

  • Love this idea! So clever. I never thought about tipping the maids each day! Thanks for this little tidbit! 🙂

This is fantastic! I’m doing an upcoming blog post over at http://www.disneymagicmommy.com about tipping, and I’m going to link back to these. They are just awesome! I wonder if I have time to try something similar before our trip!
