Counting Down to the Magic

The thoughT of taking at trip to Disney turns our house into kids. Every conversation leading up to the trip turns a couple of 20 something year olds into kids giddy with excitement. I wanted to do something to make our next trip special in the way of a countdown. I turned to the internet searching for adult appropriate countdown, and came up empty handed. There are some adult appropriate items, but not as many activities as I had hoped. Here is my (short) list of activities I plan to add to our countdown. Please add any ideas you have in the comments so we can all add them to ours!

Watch Disney Movies

This one is a given right? We have so many that we could probably fill 30 days with different ones. These can be good filler activities and are still a blast. I've seen a few posts about how to theme meals with the movies. I'm always up for adding extra magic.

Watch Ridealong Videos

I saw this in a post talking about making sure that kids would be able to handle a ride. This is what I did before riding Tower of Terror and California Screamin'. I needed to be prepared for the massive panic attack I was planning on having. It helped me to get an idea of what to expect and when to expect the scary parts. It's also great to get excited about the trip. You get to feel like you are there without the wind in your hair.

Make an Autograph Book

I'm not much into characters, but if I meet one, I want to get a good interaction. Having an Autograph Book was tip I've heard from Heather and totally plan on doing as well. I'm crafty enough that I would turn it into an activity for us to do together. There are lots of helpful sites to get your inner crafty inspired.

Make T-Shirts

While your inner crafty is out, include it to make some T-Shirts. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. We normally make shirts to commemorate the trip. If we go during halloween, we will also make simple t-shirt costumes to match our favorite character/villain.

Pack

This one seems also like a given, but there is more too it. We are pin traders, and I recently started collecting Vinylmation. I've been stocking up on Vinylmation during the disney sale and will pack them in a special spot for trading. I'll also purchase some spare pins to be able to trade once I get to Disney. These can go on a spare lanyard to keep them separate from your keepers.

For those of you with little ones, here are some links to other countdown activities.
