I knew when I started thinking about our family trip to Walt Disney World last August that I wanted to do all kinds of fun projects. Projects that would not only stretch the magic out over the whole planning time but also create something everyone could use afterward to remember the trip as well. That is exactly what this project does. I have created a few luggage tags for us to put on our luggage, or carry-on that are perfect for our trip. After the trip we can either keep them on the luggage or use them on the girls backpacks for school, have them hang in their room. So many possibilities.
I tried to keep it pretty simple – just using colored card stock that I have on hand, and a few things I cut with my silhouette.
The images I used are random images found by Googling and looking on Pinterest for Disney silhouette images. I then used my Silhouette software to get them ready to cut. You could also use three circles to make the Mickey head or have your kids draw one of the icons at the parks and use that for the front of the tag.
I used luggage tag laminating sleeves and my hot laminating machine to make them but you could easily use contact paper or name badge pockets. I thought the girls would love having their name on one of them and since I didn't preprint it like I did the “Heading to see the mouse” I used some alphabet stickers that I had sitting around from my paper scrapping days.
For the back of the tag I made up a funny saying to go with our information. I included both of our phone numbers as well as our e-mail address.
I just love how they turned out and I think the girls (and hubby too) will love them just as much as I do! One is already on our bag and ready to go. 147 days — but who's counting!
Have you created something for a Disney trip – either one that is over or one that is coming up? Share a link – we would love to see what you have created.
