Show Your #DisneySide!

On November 5th I got to attend an event at Disneyland that was ALL about Disney's newest marketing and social media campaign.  Last year is was all about the #justgothappier hashtag and commercials that were seen everywhere, THIS year Disney is encouraging the world to show off your #DisneySide!

Soooo, what is #DisneySide you ask?  It can be anything really!!  Anything that shows how much you love Disney and what you do to show it. The official Disney Side website was launched shortly before the event, and it is here that you’ll be able to share your own Disney side with the world and see what’s being posted and talked about online.  The definition of Disney Side being “the side of you that says “yes” more often, laughs louder and lives life to the fullest. It’s the side of you that embraces fun and comes out to play the moment you step through the gates at Disney Parks.”  We all know that feeling right?  The silly hats, the funny shirts and being able to act like a kid again without having someone judge you for it =)

Now, what exactly was this event?  Well, when the Disney Parks Blog first started mentioning it, they talked about being able to see a group of “social media all-stars” show off their Disney sides.  Most of us had no idea what this meant until more details started to surface.  What Disney did was invite these special stars to debut their YouTube and Vine videos, Instagram photos and more to a select group of invited guests during the premiere at Fantasyland Theatre and then meet their invited fans face-to-face at a special session following the show.

Some of these all-stars were people I have never heard of and some I had heard of.  I must say that they are all super creative, funny and talented.  Most have them have hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS of followers on YouTube, Vine, Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

If you want to learn more about these awesome people and what they do and the special stuff they did for the event, you can see it all on the Disney Parks Blog.

Now comes the fun part!  I have photos!

The morning started with us checking in and receiving a random pair of ear hats!  We were told that we were to head to the castle, put on our ear hats and we were all gonna take a huge group photo!  But not just any group photo, we had our photo taken WHILE we were taking our own selfies!  So fun!

After that we all headed over to the Fantasyland Theater to watch the presentation which was hosted by Cameron Mathison!

I took some photos of everyone but I thought it would be fun to highlight the couple all-stars that I loved!

Tiffany Alvord showed the CUTEST music video she made singing her version of It's A Small World.  I LOVE it!  You can see it HERE.

Mike Tompkins is a amazing performer who records his versions of songs acapella.  It is amazing!  See him singing When You Wish Upon A Star HERE.

Trotter Pup and his momma Sonya Yu were two people I already followed on Instagram well before this event.  Trotter is a adorable French Bulldog that loves to dress up and Sonya is a AMAZING food photographer.  I love taking photos of food and of my dogs so I was super excited to see them!

A couple days before this I saw the list of all-stars that were gonna be at this event.  I was SOO excited when I saw that Grumpy Cat was gonna be there!  I LOVE Grumpy Cat.  So of course I was super excited when her owner brought her out onto the the stage.

These were the 4 people I was most excited to see.  But believe me, everyone was hilarious and amazing.  I have since looked them all up and followed a lot of them.  It is amazing how creative people can be.

After the presentation were able to actually meet ALL of the All-Stars!  I didn't meet all of them sadly (it was soo hot this day!) but I did make sure to get some photos of the ones I really really wanted to meet.

Ridiculously Photogenic Guy.  This guy (his name is Zeddie Little) became famous, like Grumpy Cat, because of one photo.  The photo turned into a phenomenon on the internet and you can see all the different memes made on the site.  This is the photo that made him the Ridiculously Photogenic Guy:

Not gonna lie, he was pretty darn cute in person too!

Next up was the SUPER sweet Trotter Pup!  I love love love this dog.  So sweet.

I even got some kisses!

Then.  It was Grumpy Cat.  I couldn't even contain my excitement.

Everyone was having such a great time and everyone was so nice and it was made even sweeter by the fact that we were all brought together for a common love.  The love of Disney!

I know what most of you are thinking.  What in the world does any of this or these all-stars have to do with Capturing Magic?  The #DisneySide promotion and hashtag, to me, was pretty much MADE for Capturing Magic.  It is all about spending time and having fun with family and friends and documenting those memories through social media.  It is brilliant and perfect for what we do here at this site. As far as the all-stars are concerned, I have one thing that made the ENTIRE day worth it.

I can't.  I just love it so much!

So everyone get out there and start documenting YOUR #DisneySide!!
